Brecon Mountain Rescue Team is an emergency service staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donation. We operate principally in mid Wales, working from the Brecon Beacons National Park north to Plynlimon, from the Welsh borderland westward, through mid Wales, to the Ceredigion coast, though we regularly work throughout south, mid & west Wales & around the English border. Our work is not restricted to mountain and wilderness search and rescue for climbers and hill walkers: our skills are also deployed by the police to search for vulnerable or missing persons in the community where we can employ our specialist medical and rescue techniques.
We have put this site together to help you understand how Brecon Mountain Rescue Team operates, trains and interacts with other agencies and how we are deployed by the police to carry out searches & technical rescues.
