Credible report of a flare from member of public. Dyfed Powys Police asked team to investigate. The Team Coordinator spoke with person reporting and asked for detailed description of flare. Colour of flare and movement of flare. This sounded unusual though direction information sounded reliable. The sighting was more a bright light than a flare. Upon investigation it was found that Coastguard rescue helicopter 187 was practicing at the location described. Concluded that the sighting was the rescue helicpoter searchlight. Coordinator agreed with police not to deploy.
